UK’s First AI-Only Employment Law Service Launches
Grapple Law has launched today as the UK’s first employment law service powered entirely by artificial intelligence, offering consumers both legal advice and representation without employing any lawyers.
Context and Background
The service, which spun out of Monaco Solicitors in London, charges users £20 monthly for legal advice and £50 monthly for representation services, including sending letters to employers under the Grapple Law name. Founded by Alex Monaco, the platform also handles insurance disputes and airline claims, targeting consumers who traditionally lack access to legal services.
Unlike Garfield.law which launched earlier this year, Grapple Law operates as an unregulated service without professional indemnity insurance. Monaco has positioned himself prominently on the website to provide user reassurance, having invested approximately £1 million over five years developing the technology.
The platform addresses employment tribunal cases through document drafting for self-representation, as it cannot appear on record for clients. Monaco envisions future developments including AI assistants that could accompany users to court proceedings.
Looking Forward
Grapple Law plans expansion into additional legal areas and international markets, with the platform already sending its first legal letter to Australia. Monaco is currently crowdfunding £500,000 before pursuing venture capital funding of £3-5 million to support this growth strategy.
The service aims to democratise access to legal advice for individuals who would never consider instructing traditional solicitors. Monaco Solicitors continues operating as a hybrid firm, combining human lawyers with AI technology, whilst Grapple Law targets the broader consumer market seeking faster, less personal legal solutions.
